After Mark's appearance on ITV’s ‘A Night For The Emergency Services’, he wanted to give something back to the RNLI in a way of a ‘thank you’ for the opportunity to represent the charity on tv.
Mark & the band performed ‘Santa Clause Is Coming To Town’ in front of a live studio audience for the ITV Christmas Special, celebrating performers who work within the emergency services.
This year, Mark launched a campaign to raise money for vital life-saving equipment needed at Ilfracombe Lifeboat Station, where he has been a volunteer Helmsman & crew member since 2010.
He set out to raise funds through a Just Giving page online & by taking bucket collections on the auditorium doors throughout his 2018 theatre tour.
But the campaign soon gained national attention and saw donations come flooding in from donors including past clients, local & national organisations, as well as a considerable grant of £3,500 from the AONB (Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty) thanks to the work of Lifeboat Operations Manager, Chris Wallace.
Mark initially set out to raise just £3,500 but with such a huge response from the public, he was able to donate equipment totalling £12,398.70.
